All eyes at 2.50 on Saturday will be firmly fixed on the action at Newton Abbot as Innocent Girl bids to extend her remarkable record for the club back over fences.
Facing 7 rivals and chasing over £7,000 to the winner let’s hope after 2nds in her last 2 runs oursuper mare can make it third time lucky.
We caught up with trainer Harry Fry for an update on her chances;
“It looks another good opportunity for Innocent Girl and a nice prize to go for. She’s been in good form since her last run over hurdles at the track, and everything should suit her tomorrow – trip, ground and track – and particularly being back over fences”
Reflecting on past performances, Harry said;
“She’s been unbelievably consistent for us. In eleven starts, she’s won four, come second five times, been third once and would have won her other start but for unseating. Hopefully she can get her head back in front tomorrow”
Giving an update on our horse with Fry, Status Quo, Harry added;
“Status Quo is coming along nicely and starts his fact work tomorrow. All being well he is firmly on target for his seasonal reappearance in early October”.
